The Round Rock

The table-shaped rock in Old Settlers Park is a prominent feature of the town. It is located on Chisholm Trail Rd, Round Rock, TX 78681. Built-in 1876, it served as the low-water spot for cattle, horses, and wagons. Today, Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital is the newest facility in Round Rock. The round rock area was once a small farming community. In the nineteenth century, railroad travelers and residents would visit this landmark to learn about the town’s history and culture.

The RR Stagecoach Inn is a historical landmark located near the Ventura Freeway and Ventura Park Road in Newbury Park. The historic building was originally named the Grand Union Hotel. It was destroyed by fire in the 1970s. The current building was restored and is operated by the Conejo Valley Historical Society and the Conejo Recreation and Park District. It is a National Register of Historic Places-listed buildings.

Today, a memorial park is located on the north bank of Brushy Creek, east of Chisholm Trail Road, where visitors can find traces of wagon wheel ruts left by a caravan. Round Rock is located on the Chisholm Trail, approximately 17 miles north of Austin.
